For this year’s Christmas card, I ended up painting a sketchbook-style collage. The challenge was to let go of the idea that I should somehow whip out a masterpiece holiday illustration and instead try to simply have fun drawing images that surround me in my daily life.

For the sentiment inside, I used a jolly handwritten typeface created by
Font Diner and lettering artist
Crystal Kluge, called
Mountains of Christmas (love this name!). What’s more, they graciously made it available from Google
for free! Yes, some free fonts are awesome.
I told you I was going to frame this masterpiece. This is so YOU.

ReplyDeleteAnd it was easily my favorite card of the year. Thanks!

ReplyDeleteI loved the card!
ReplyDeleteSo happy you guys liked it! I struggled so much with the card this year until I finally said at the last moment, f*** this, at the very least I know I can draw what’s in front of me, so that’s what I am going to do.
